I didn't even know he was still playing. 34 years young! Congrats and go get 'em, Gooooch!!

Wish it could have been earlier in his career, but love it

Glad to have Gooooch back in the US. One of my two favorite Tiger soccer players that I've seen play (the other being Wojtek Krakowiak). Would love to have Krakowiak back at Clemson at some point. He has been head coaching lower-level college women's soccer at North Dakota State, but resigned in the fall. Not sure where he will land for next year. I was always surprised that Krakowiak didn't have as good of a professional career as Gooooch.

GOOCH!

Never let it be forgotten he took that patellar tendon injury preserving a 2-2 draw against Costa Rica, allowing the USA to win the Hex in 2009. He was never really quite the same after that though he remained a formidable player.

The "staredown" he did in one of the early Dos A Cero matches against Mexico remains unrivaled as far as Sending A Message goes. Seldom have I seen anyone shut their yap quite that fast. He also broke Zlatan Ibrahimovic's ribs in a training camp brawl in AC Milan in 2010, something probably everyone who's ever played with or against The Zlatan would very much envy.

Love me some Gooch, and he will always remain one of my favorite players.
