Just like they said in the article, September is gonna be a beast w/ Auburn, @ UL, & @ VT. Would've preferred having Citadel in early schedule along w/ Kent State to have another game to break in the new starters but oh well. At least Auburn & UL are having to break in new ppl as well.
My honest opinion, if the team gets through September 5-0 or 4-1, gotta like the chances for being in the hunt for division, ACC, & CFP. If we're going to drop a game, Auburn or VT will be easier to overcome. UL is the one we can least afford to loose, especially if they don't fade like last year & the division is a 3 team race by the FSU game. Glad VT didn't end up being a Thurs night game.
FSU & Auburn being @ home will be key for us. UL, VT, & SC on the road will give us some good road wins for the playoff committee. Not a fan of the Fri night games, but looks like the ACC is committed to this. Least it's a road game @ Syracuse - the second they do that to a home game to us, all you-know-what is gonna break loose. Love that bye week is mid-October & right before the stretch of GT, NC St, & FSU.
Solid schedule. I felt 10-2 & NY6 game would be a very good year given the departures & how schedule would shake out, but if the team is 5-0 or 4-1 after what might be the toughest Sept slate of anyone in the country, then an ACC & CFP three-peat becomes a pretty reasonable expectation.
