I remember after the 1981 NC

Jan 17, 2017, 7:43 PM

I remember after the 1981 NC there were signs at the state lines that said:

"Now entering SC home of the National Champion Clemson Tigers"

Will that happen again or is that now considered a micro-aggression against the many bafoons who go/went to University of $hitty Choices?!

I believe that's when they painted the paws on Hwy 123 too. That was an awesome time to be a Tiger. In fact everyday is a great day to be a Clemson Tiger Fan/Alum.

Goooooo National Champions.

The Powdersville exit off the toll road used to have paws

Jan 17, 2017, 8:02 PM

They were smaller, but still awesome. Anyone know how those came about and if they're still there?

I think the Paw appeared on the highway in the 1970s didn't it? I remember how exciting it was the first time I saw it.

I know there were paws as you approached Clemson in the early 70s.

But the big "Paws on the road" event happened in 1977 or 79 when someone (a fraternity I think) painted paws every 2 miles on the highways from Clemson to willy B stadium the night before the Carolina game.

Probably wouldn't be PC enough. The only way it will be allowed is if we put their women's basketball Final Four appearance under it
