I've been browsing Winsipedia lately and some of the MNC

stats are pretty surprising:

Tigers one of only 9 schools to win at least 2 Championships since '80 (FSU, UF, Bama, Miami, Nebraska, LSU, Penn St., OSU).

Michigan has 11 (2nd all time) but only one ('97) since 1948. So Clemson has won 100% more Championships than Michigan in the last 65 years.

Pitt has NINE (?!), good for 5th all time. They won in '76, the other 8 are from '37 and before.

Likewise, Minnesota has 6, all 1960 or before.

Mich St, Cal, and Illinois have 4 apiece. MSU's most recent in '66, Cal's was in '37, and Illinois's was in '27.

Should we be drawing some distinction between the "modern" era of CFB (maybe '70 and after) since a lot of the championships, especially from the 50s and before are disputed--teams only needed to find a random poll that had them at #1 to end the season?

Coots still got us with who is widely considered the worst Heisman Trophy winner in history but, unsurprisingly, other than that, it's not even a rivalry.
