D. Kanell J. Palmer B. Quinn G McElroy

Dec 2, 2016, 11:33 PM

Sorry, but someone's gotta say it: Why is it that these men are allowed to hold noteworthy roles in college football that portray them as commentators with respected, "expert opinions" of the quarterback position. I mean, good gawd...the men couldn't succeed at the highest level of football competition. They washed out. They were straight GARBAGE in the NFL...especially Quinn- he actually managed to make the Browns worse. How is that even possible?

I will never understand the idea behind allowing washed-up, decent college QBs who went on to absolutely suck A$$ in the NFL discuss and explain the nuances of the position as if they understand how a QB ought to play the game. Biggest hypocrites ever.

Quite simple. They are looking for work other than QBing.

clearly you should be on there***

They work cheap?

ESPN's looking to stretch the dollar at this point.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Not having the athleticism doesn't mean you don't have the brains for the game.

They all drive me crazy at times, but for the most part I like Kannell and McElroy.

null

so they are not qualified, and you know this

Dec 3, 2016, 2:23 AM

because you are more qualified?

Not defending them, but I believe Coach K knows a good bit

Dec 3, 2016, 3:23 AM

about basketball... was he a good NBA player?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I actually like McElroy ok. He has been talking us up

Dec 3, 2016, 3:34 AM

for most of the year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just because they weren't good in the NFL...

Dec 3, 2016, 4:31 AM

doesn't mean they don't know their stuff. How was Coach K's NBA career? How about Bill Belichick's career as a player in the NFL? How was Peter Gammons during his MLB career?

And what about all these washed up players that couldn't cut the NFL actually coaching and teaching players? That's just insane! Oh wait.......never mind!!

I would rather listen all of them except J. Palmer than a Bugger Macfarland, Ray Lewis, or a Keshawn Johnson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your argument doesn't hold up

Dec 3, 2016, 7:17 AM

Some of the greatest coaches weren't that good of players, and that would go for commentators too. There are plenty of teachers who are great at what they do but weren't that good at doing it themselves. If what you say is true, there'd be no Dabo Swinney, or Al Michaels, or whomever. "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, do."

Sounds like you've got some other axe to grind with these guys, not that I love 'em (I don't even know who all of them are)

Maybe because this is college football. Not the NFL. They were good in college football. Two totally different games.

Yes. I love how we call people that made it to the nfl washed up. Very small percentage even make it that far. I would have loved to have a chance. But to the point, jesse palmer sucks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are you serious?

Dec 3, 2016, 8:55 AM

Certainly you understand the difference between having an intellectual grasp of something without having the required physical ability to be the best at it.

Would you really rather hear Jameis Winston as a commentator? Based on your faulty logic, he's better suited than Kanell and McElroy.

All the good QBs are still playing***
