University of Alabama standout linebacker Tim Williams was arrested by the University of Alabama Police Department for carrying a handgun without a permit early Thursday morning. His bond was set at $300
Williams was approached by police after officers smelled marijuana coming from Williams' car parked near a grocery story around 2 a.m., AL.com reported. The passenger said the pot belonged to him, but a search of the vehicle yielded a handgun.
Williams, who is projected to be a top prospect next year’s NFL draft, has recorded six tackles and 1½ sacks. Last season, Williams finished second on the team with 10½ sacks while playing primarily on third downs.

Well since this guy sweated all summer while the rest of us was enjoying the AC, the pot obviously belonged to the passenger and someone could have thrown the gun in the car unbeknownst to the occupants.
This guy is totally innocent

or downtown Motown, maybe I could understand the necessity of having a gun, but he's a freakin' college kid who lives around campus in Tuscaloosa bamalama and he's a BMOC football player on the defending national champion......why on earth does he need a weapon? Especially an unlicensed one....

so Saban won't be doing anything to him either.
"I think when people make poor choices and decisions about how they use these things [guns] you're talking about, it's because they're afraid," Saban said.
"They don't have a relationship. They don't have understanding. They don't have a feeling, whether it's a policeman or some young person. ... There's always a little fear. I think when you have that kind of fear, you have people making poor choices and decisions about how they do these things."

One-game suspension should discipline him a-plenty.
Nothing to see here, folks! Keep moving on!

I think Saban sits him next game (for the first play).
