Reading their message forums, they are pretty idiotic overall. It's clear (most) of them have no clue about the game, the rosters, or the X's and O's. They are the most confident bunch I've ever seen for being so ignorant.

Being originally from AL and having a lot of Auburn fans as friends, I couldn't agree more. It's really difficult to carry on a rational football conversation with them about the game without them saying "We're going to destroy you" or somehow like that.

The only surprise I can imagine ( on our end ) is a close win for Clemson.
I anticipate a 14-20 point victory based on my own metrics and some quasi-feeble research ...so anything inside of 2 tds would shock me .
A loss to Auburn is not possible . Again , research .

From what I've heard, if it's under 21 points, it means our players are too excited and too tense.
Another one of their players is just kicked out of the team.
The only positive news for them is they don't have to face Austin Bryant.

Walter Merritt Riggs can be characterized as the "Father of Clemson Football," as he brought the game with him from Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama (now Auburn University). The fact that Auburn and Clemson share the same mascot is no accident. Riggs allowed his players to pick the team mascot and, although he may have influenced their decision, the players chose Tigers because Princeton University had just won the national championship. Riggs helped organize and coach the infant Tiger team in 1896. With little money to spend on uniforms, Riggs brought some of Auburn's old practice uniforms with him, which happened to have orange and navy jerseys.[6] Because the jerseys had gone through a few washboard scrubbings, they were quite faded, the navy worse than the orange. So Riggs made the school’s predominant color orange and the faded condition of the navy became the purplish color, officially known today as Regalia.

Most of the Auburn fans I have encountered this week have been very humble. They don't really Know what they have and based off last year's lackluster performance they aren't talking much trash . Internet message boards bring out the worst in people, but here in the middle of their state, they are very humble.

For that, they said the game isn't out of reach.
Well, the offence is better, that's for sure. Peake out, Williams back. That's better. Other than that, 8 out of 11 starters are back. Overall better line.
Defense is probably the question mark, but we are packed on the d-line. Overall, more talented line. I kinda thin this d-line will help the secondary a lot.

fans to be much like USCjr fans in SC. Delusional fanbase that is very jealous of the other more dominant in-state team. Auburn is very jealous of Alabama (for good reason) just like USCjr is of Clemson, with The Citadel moving up the ladder.

I worked in B'ham AL for 10 years before retiring last year. Auburn fans are okay IMO. Their hate goes towards Alabama - believe me. As much as we think they might hate on us, it's nothing compared with their hate towards Bama. We are just another bump in the road to them. Being #2 doesn't really matter all that much to them IMO. They want to win, but are pretty realistic from those fans I knew.

Now remember.. we all know... ehem.. that message boards dont bring out the best of every fan base. I went to the Clemson/AU games in 2011 and 2012 and found the Auburn fans to be (mostly) nice people who were also very complimentary of us. That is never going to be 100% but riding the Marta in 2012 in a car that was 90% Auburn fans they were fun to hang out with.
