Auburn fans are just as blinded as every other SEC team

I drifted off onto one of their sports boards, and they think their team is about even with Clemson's minus QB. I guess every SEC team is top 5 minus QB then. This is coming from a school that will be looking for a new head coach after this season lol.
Don't get me wrong, I think the game will be close going into the 4th quarter. This is only due to it being the first game of the season. Auburn hasn't realized they are a 7-5, 6-6 team yet.
Am I the only one confused by their optimism? Their QB couldn't win the backup position at FSU.

You're right, they might be looking for a new coach as they

ran a National Championship winning coach away just a couple years removed. They're fickle on up in The Plains.
IF the roles were reversed, many a fan, hither & yon, would be tripping the light fantastic over the amount of talent on Aubie's team.
For fandoms every where, hope springs eternal...
Rivals Team Rankings - Recruiting

I'd say any fan could make a case for hope and dreams based on those kinds of numbers.

I expect us to get redemption for the WVU game. I also fully expect Auburn fans calling for Steele to be fired after the first game!

hope and or dreams in a roster littered with stars as is Auburn's".
Nothing in there suggests I pick Auburn to win or anyone for that matter, but it is easy to see[for some] how an emotionally charged group of people could build a case for hope.
Deer lowered, SOLOS, I count on some of you to at least see clearly on a cloudy day and most days I count on you as one of those.
Today or at least this moment is not that day - but I'm pulling for you.

I understand that they went from horrible to national championship with cam, but the transfer qb method doesn't normally work. They kid of remind me of how we use to recruit. On paper we would be great, but we were always missing something.

or real. It's what "fans" do, until the awful reality of broken hopes & dreams unfolds over the course of a game or season.
Pre-season is made for fans to build aspirations of grandeur & feats untold for the colors they hold dear.

The barners are a 9 to 10 win team this year. Losses to the dogs, bama and Clemson. They will beat cramping tigers.

It's OK to get ahead of yourself and brag on the message boards, it's just fans that don't have any say in the outcome.
Dabo has already shown that he doesn't let the team look past anybody

Other than QB, they have players of our caliber across the board. You think not?
Besides QB, I expect the big diff to be coaching and preparation.
