He's been getting a lot of praise during Spring and Fall practice, I wouldn't be surprise if he led the team in sacks this year. I expect him along with O'Daniel to be break out stars on the D this year.

that is the case. He came to Clemson very highly regarded. Coaches spoke very highly of him last August before he got hurt. Coaches have spoken very favorably of him this fall camp. He is expected to start.
I can't imagine how it could possibly surprise anybody if he turns out to be a star.

Don't be surprised if he's gone following his RS Soph year. Ferrell may wind up the best of the DEs we've sent to the NFL recently - he's definitely the closest to a prototype 43 rush end. He can carry up to 275-280 lbs without any concerns over losing athleticism - he looks lean and long at 269. We'll see what he does this year, but absolutely great potential.

That'll be 2 years of starting on a highly ranked and highly exposed team against good competition. We'll have him likely for 3 years total, including last year's RS.

Clelin will not leave

until he has completed his degree. I met his mother before I met him when they were taking a recruiting visit before he committed. She and I talked for an hour or so sitting on the bench in front of the Holiday Inn. During that conversation she stated that she didn't know too much about football and what she was interested in was a good education for Clelin. A few minutes later she brought him to my table in the restaurant for an introduction. After speaking with him, it became apparent to me that his head was on straight and while he wanted to do well in football, he wants that degree.
He and his family are a class act and I'm delighted that he's doing so well.
