Poor Clemson, according to this pro Tennessee writer, they have the edge on the recruits we're after. The recruits they do lose will probably go to Georgia. Don't know how we'll be able to field a team in years to come.

Lol....I know. I hope they just have their strange colored glasses on.

I feel good about our chances. Our coaches, our players, our facilities, our location, our education system, our fans.....and the fact that we are family must make Clemson a school to consider.

I'm not educated enough to know, but 247 disagrees...

Jun 25, 2016, 5:23 PM

According to 247...

Higgins - 65% Clemson
Smith - 33% Tenn, 33% Ole Miss
Johnson - Clemson commit
Stevens - 67% UGA
Rodgers - Clemson commit
Foster - 62% Tenn (38% Clemson)
Williams - they got this one right - 80% Tenn
Gaddy Bros - 1 is 100% Tenn, the other is 70% Tenn
Herring - 81% UGA
Jones - OSU 76%

Looks like the yellow orange team misses out on most of their in-state talent.

I'll defer to @TigerBry83 and Tiger Woods for a more expert analysis.

Those numbers by 247sports are usually 'par.' One thing the original article won't mention, that stands out to me, is that Clemson landed RB Cordarrian Richardson. So not only did we take their top in-state RB but we also took their once committed, Army All-American QB in Hunter Johnson. And that's in addition to raiding that state for ultra-talented WR Amari Rodgers. Plus I'd be a little surprised if LB Justin Foster doesn't end up at Clemson. Landing Tee Higgins would be icing on the cake because under those circumstances it would appear Clemson has won this war.

Not to mention UGA will probably win plenty of recruiting battles over UT as well. But that's nothing unusual. And I guess the folks at VolNation left Trevor Lawrence off the list cause it sure seems like it's gonna be Clemson or UGA for his services. Sorry Vols. But much like App State, you should out-recruit scar for the next few years.

I'm not sure why the article mentioned 2018 QB Emory Jones cause he's nearly a Buckeye lock. However signing day for him is still over a year away. These days I question what the word committed actually means.

They could've addedCB Gentry Bonds (6-0 190) to the list as well but I can see leaving him off. He released a Top 5 last Friday and Tennessee didn't make the list- in no order of Kentucky, Clemson, Nebraska, Georgia Tech and Missouri. Let's face it, UT signs 30+ kids a year so if they want him then they'll pursue him but it would seem like he's a Tiger lean. It wouldn't shock me if UNC or UofL made a move with him though.

My primary conclusion from lurking on Vols sites is that none have a single f*cking clue as to what they're talking about.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Williams end up a Tiger.
