Like to be sympathetic, but he was a huge narcissistic ahole overall even without bashing Clemson. Most of what he did was just bash teams and athletes. Was very hateful and vitriol in all of his articles. So I'm feeling the German side of me and gonna have some Schadenfreude with this. Considering how much hated us, and we are at the top while his career is pretty much over from at least a national stand point.

His irrational opinion about Clemson was the Red Herring that "something is seriously wrong with this dude".

Doyel was working for The Charlotte Observer in the way back and he wrote a series of articles about conference expansion. As I recall, he wrote as if FSU leaving the ACC was nearly a done deal and I believe attributed the info to the FSU President. Shortly thereafter he left The Observer.

Of course he was wrong about Clemson. Of course he was wrong about FSU. He's been wrong a lot. I have no idea why anyone would read his columns, no matter where they are posted.

I liked to call him Gregg D'oh Yell and pretty much despised the guy. He was somewhat right for the most part, but he was a jerk as to how he slammed CLEMSON continuously. I was glad to see him go and I wished him all the bad luck he could find. Maybe he is finding it now.

I wonder what he'd be saying about CLEMSON these days?
