i honestly don't see the problem

with a coach saying that recruits don't place any value on loyalty and do not understand the word commitment. with that being said, there are many coaches that are disloyal to universities as well. the system is definitely broken and these verbals need more parameters in place. this was all driven by social media which imo will be the death knell for kids, politics, and sports. it has ruined society and continues to be a wedge.

System is not broken; that why its a verbal commitment until the ink is dry. Recruit to the end, NSigningD.

He's got no room to talk about loyalty or commitment.

explains commitment to them and tries to talk recruits out of committing if they aren't 100% sure, and then secures their spot in the class when they finally pull the trigger.
So many other coaches are just pushing players to commit commit commit but will drop players in a second if a better prospect comes along.
The way our staff handled the Shaq Smith situation was masterful and is pretty much the opposite of what happened at ATM with Martell.

can't say as some on here ever learned anything about themselves though.

If that player doesn't perform well in his Senior year and serious questions arise, would that program remain loyal to their "commitment" to the player? Almost certainly not. Coaches have no problem yanking the scholarship of an underperforming athlete, but complain about loyalty when the student finds a school that fits them better...it's the ultimate in hypocrisy.
