Now who said the DB's should have stayed another year?

2 out of 3 selected by the end of round two. And we know Kearse's reason for his draft stock falling.

That's not fair to the players in my opinion. If they're ready for the NFL, they should go. This is an opportunity to change their & their families' lives. Of course it's always great to imagine guys staying all 4 years, but if they're good enough it's not realistic and it's selfish to expect them not to do what's best for them & their family.

Alexander really could have been a top 15 pick next year. Late 2nd isn't bad, but I can guarantee it wasn't where he was expected to fall.

green absolutely would have been a first rounder had he put in another year of work, but hard to complain when you have 1 million in your hand.

IF it were only about getting the most $$$ out of the draft

as possible, then the this player or that player "should have stayed" proclamations would make a little more sense (just a little); but much, if not most of the time it's not. I wish all of our players well and far be it from me to blame any of them for taking the leap when they decide it's right for them.

ME! I love CLEMSON period! We would have no doubt won the title. Kearse not so much but Alexander and Green would helped us to NC and gotten 1st round picks next year.

Green my have worked up to 1st round. Mac - not sure

Uncertain Mac would have graded much better - same speed, same height. His coverage skills were excellent versus college WRs & QBs. NFL guys like their measurables and analytics. Those likely would not have changes much if at all. Apparently the NFL gurus have some reservations whether Mac's skills translating to the pros.
Remember that Vic Beasley's combine was off the charts - NFL values those measurables in conjunction with college performance.

If these guys stayed and snapped their leg with career ending injury would you have said they should have left? Two way street bub.

Who would have surely placed better next year?

Based on continued skill growth, not considering potential for injury
Dodd and Kearse. If Dodd plays number 1 DE one more year he easily moves way int first round. Kearse needs to show he won't blow plays. Study study study film and he may have really improved his stock.
Alexander is limited by his physical stature, Green maybe goes higher, but he used his physical stats to max out. Lawson maybe moves a few spots, but he likely went where he would have and gained another year of paychecks.
Wish them all well
