At Augusta yesterday with huge Gator fan and UF Alum...

who was very knowledgeable about football.....particularly UF football. Without prejudice, I asked him what he thought about Muschamp. I was not prepared for the the reaction....though not surprised. With noted disdain and animation, he said he was the worst football coach he had ever seen....bar none! I asked him who he would compare his to. First answer.....Jerry Faust (old Notre Dame coach). I asked how he would compare to Charlie Weiss. Said Muschamp made Weiss seem like a genius! Interesting!

was honestly wanting to know his opinion. Her was particularly upset with his handling of their QBs and was irate over UF giving him a 4th year. I'll have to say that he thought he was a good defensive coach (or rather that he thought they had a good enough defense to have been really good) but ruined any chance of them having a decent offense.

On another note, a friend of mine from Birmingham played with Muschamp at the Augusta National last year. I asked him what he was like (this guy a big Auburn supporter) to play with. He said he didn't know....that he stayed on his cell phone practically the entire round. Since it is my understanding that AN does not allow talking on cell phones on the course, either Muschamp did not care about the rules or more likely getting his host in trouble for allowing a guest to break the rules!
