Remember when @RevDodd used to do the basketball

Feb 8, 2016, 9:24 AM

write-ups before the games, with all the pictures and details of the opponents? I loved those. Looked they took a lot of time, though.

Anyway, what do we expect from Notre Dame. I don't like when fans start talking about how every game is "Must Win" in early January...but we are getting down to where I think we'll have to do something pretty impressive down this stretch to lock a spot in the tournament. Notre Dame is ranked 28th in RPI...that would be a nice resume line, and at home we can do it.

It's very close to a must win. As much as anything, we need it for the confidence factor as we go thru the stretch run.

This team seem to have an uncanny knack for....

winning games they shouldn't and then losing games they shouldn't.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Well, they win a lot at home and lose a more on the road.

A lot of teams are like that. I wouldn't say they "shouldn't have" lost to VT, for example. VT has a decent team, and also beat Virginia on their home floor. Their only ACC home losses were to UNC and Louisville.

I thought the Virginia Tech game was....

a game Clemson absolutely should have won, particularly considering that VT was in the midst of a five game losing streak and had lost 6 of their last 8 games.

But they're not a bad team. And losing 5 games in a row is just more reason to believe they will grab a win. Buzz Williams isn't just gonna let them pack it in and quit. Tough loss but not a killer.

Need a W tonight. Let's get it

They're a decent team with a bad record (13-11)***

One way to look at it...11 losses. If they had lost to CU

Feb 8, 2016, 10:50 AM

That would have been their third-worst loss of the season. (They lost at home to Alabama St. to open the year, and at home to Northwestern later on.) All their other losses have been to high-quality teams, and most of them on the road.
