All I can remember about Herring is how huge of a cushion we gave our opponents' receivers. Geez - you could throw a tank in there and not hit anyone. I could have coached against Herring and never run the ball. He sucked IMO. Glad he's doing well somewhere far away from CLEMSON.

He's proven to be a position coach, but in all fairness, the late 90s wasn't exactly talent rich in these parts

I always marveled on how he could yell at players all afternoon and never lose his gum. I think he chewed the same piece for several games at a time.
