How much do we win by today?

Feb 6, 2016, 10:02 AM

I'll say 7. Jaron has a good game and no foul trouble for Nnoko. Let's go Tigers.

No foul trouble for Nnoko?

Feb 6, 2016, 10:09 AM

If that were to happen, we win by double digits.

That said, he'll probably pick up his second foul by the time he steps off the team bus. It is an away game, ya know?

Tigers: 67

Testicle-free Birds: 62

Think I read Coach Brownell won't start Nnoko this evening

Feb 6, 2016, 12:33 PM

due to his propensity to pick up silly fouls. We are a pretty good team when he can play. Without him, we have zero low post presence. Djitte has fallen off a bit since having an excellent stretch of games, Smith is struggling and Robertin just reacts too slowly at this point.

Hope it doesn't make Landry tentative, but he's a senior and he has to eliminate those foolish fouls for us to make the tournament.

If he can stay on the court, he's a double double waiting to happen.

He said the thought had crossed his mind, but I doubt he will put it into play today.

But I agree. We just need 25 minutes from Landry and I think our team is so much better.

He's done it once before in the Georgia game, but it didn't

work out so well.

Don't want either of them to stop being aggressive, but

the unnecessary fouls are the ones that keep Nnoko & Djitte for long stretches.......both can contribute offensively and defensively and effectively so.....but its hard to score or block shots when you're sitting on the bench......

I did think Josh Smith's play vs Wake contributed significantly to the phenominal 2nd half-run by the Tigers...Josh just hasn't had much on-court time this season

Josh may have broken his hand

Smith played much better against Wake and his contributions helped greatly.

He was a nonfouler his first year. then with each year he's had more of a tendency to foul

sophomore years, assuming he continued to progress at a similar rate. The foul trouble has stifled his growth.

iMO Nnoko often gets hit with two types of careless fouls.

Feb 6, 2016, 1:17 PM [ in reply to No foul trouble for Nnoko? ]

1- Setting the pick up high, he does not set or hip checks the opposing player.
2- Tring to get low post position, he gets tangled up with the defender.

Simply stop doing these two things will help.

Moving screens are 75% of the time the ball handler's fault. The dribbler has to wait for him to be set before attacking.
