2017 Class

How many spaces do we have for 2017? I may be off but this looks like it will be a small class and we have 6 commits already. My guess is 10-13.

It should be 20+ again. There was a list I commented on awhile back that had the players we predict to take and it was 20ish.

I think it was:
2QB - done
1RB - open, Swift, McFarland, Anthony something I think
0TE
4-5OL - 3 done, 1 more OT and hopefully Ruiz at OC or another OT
3WR - JJ, Amari, Tee (might be able to take 1 more if Scott goes)

1DT - Crosby... there's 2-3 more we are big on
2DE - Carter, Matos, Williams and 1 more
2LB - Singleton and Foster
3 Safeties - Davondre, Devon and Xavier
4 CBs - Jamyest, Deon, LeAnthony and Malcolm

0 special teams

That's 22-23. At current rankings and based on totals for this year, that would give us the #1 class.

Thank you. It looked like we only have 10 raising seniors on scholarship and i guessed 3 juniors turn pro. Nice to know we have additional room.

10 SRs. I think quite a few JRs are going to leave though.

Mike Williams - 100% gone
Watson - likely gone
Gallman - likely gone
Scott - I'm really not sure. I don't see him as a guy that will get drafted highly, but it might make sense for him to leave anyway. I'd say he's probably gone.

Those are just the obvious ones. There will be several other guys that transfer or get kicked off the team. It always happens. And there's a good chance we will have 1 or 2 guys that burst onto the scene for us next year (Dodd) or surprise everyone (Green) and leave early. Going into last season nobody would've predicted either of those guys to leave.

So you think we will lose somewhere around 10 extra players this year. I was thinking we had about 13 and then Dane is leaving so that gets it up to 13 or 14. We do not have that many that will go pro this year other than about 3 and I am counting Scott. If Scott does not go then this number drops. It always seems like the numbers work out. It just seems like we are on a course for a small class so hopefully is will be a quality class and so far we are off to a good start.

Williams, Watson, and Gallman. Plus a surprise guy or two, and the normal attrition due to discipline and lack of playing time. We will probably end up with 20ish spots.
