They would have to hire him before the college football playoffs. Doing so would hurt Alabama's chances... I mean, they're already distracted by the NFL draft... How would they handle their DC leaving? This only increases our chances of winning the national championship, and definitely decreases the SEC's chances of riding the Alabama coattails.

Then, he comes to South Carolina as a UGA alum and has to promote the Gamecocks? Haha, Dabo can easily sell Clemson, because it sells itself, but Smart would have a hard time convincing parents he's not lying to them. I guess any coach would. Would definitely be an interesting hire, and I know the little cooties would be really excited about getting a piece of Alabama. They would flaunt all of his national championships. It would be greatly sad, and would be fun to listen to their excuses and complaints as he struggles to rebuild their fallen program.
