I believe that is Dabo's philosophy. When Ryan is back, he will get first team reps vs Jay's first team reps and make a decision then.

He will let the player determine his spot by virtue of work ethic and performance.

very well and he has very good technique! I'm glad Guillermo is back and he has played well. However, Jay still is a little sloppy with his technique and pad level. He also tends to get more holding calls than Norton. It is nice to see some quality depth start to develop on the OL.

When Norton does return to action, he is not assured of regaining his starting position.

The play of redshirt junior center Jay Guillermo in Norton’s absence has been praised this week by both Swinney and co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott, and Swinney said Tuesday that Guillermo will have a chance to compete to keep the starting job.

“Jay’s not going anywhere,” Swinney said.

Hope Ryan gets better soon but really think Jay Guillermo has earned the starting position - practically 100% on time and on target with his snaps in some real challenging conditions. All the things I've heard about Norton indicate he is a beast so maybe he can help out at the other line positions?
