I wonder if he is the one that TI is talking about

when they say that our coaches made a major move with a SC recruit.

Probably so. This one is a big deal because he is in-state and still took a while to get the offer. Not sure why, but maybe we just hadn't had time to fully vette the WR position for 2017. I'm sure one of the Tiger (Bry or Woods) guys will give us a full rundown haha.

Coaches were looking for year-over-year improvement from Smith before offering and yes, we were a little behind in evaluating him effectively.

Sounds like it would be the situation. It's crazy to think about how far Dabo has turned around this program in terms of recruiting. I can't imagine Tennessee will be much of a threat to land Overton by the end of the season, but they alway$ $eem to pull $ome magic out of a bag, so who knows. Cornell Powell is definitely my favorite receiver recruit. He is a driven kid and is just a superb athlete with lots of talent. I get so excited for these kids and the personal growth they're going to experience while being apart of the Clemson family.

I love what I've seen from TJ Chase. Kid has REALLY gotten after it to work on improving his body and receiver skills. His route precision is glorious and he could be very similar to Nuk in catch radius.

Clemson is his top choice, too.***

Yes it was.

Me and several others have been wondering why he wasn't offered. Apparently he didn't look great at Dabo's camp, but his play on Friday nights was too much to ignore. He has earned it and I'm really excited about this recruit.

My son is Ortre's high jump Coach at Wando. I think he won awards at dabos camp. He catches everything and can jump out the gym. It was a big puzzle why he was late getting an offer. Looking forward to him in orange. My son says Ortre is hard working and very modest. Perfect fit for us.

I wonder if Clemson wants him as a wr or as a s

I would assume WR (if Elliot offered him), but you never know. They usually give the player the position they want, and then let them realize on their own that they should switch. If he ended up a S with this kid http://www.tigernet.com/update/recruiting/Clemson-offers-North-Carolina-ATH-20450 we would have Jayron Kearse and TJ Green all over again, and that would be fine with me!

Kid's a baller at either position. We're in for half the top 150 DBs in the 2017 cycle so we could see a WR class of Smith, Cauthen, and Robinson

That would be awesome! Good times now, and good times to come. It's great to know that these kids are going to be prepared to succeed on and off the field.
