but I am thankful for BV. He is going to have quite the challenge this year but I can't think of a coordinator I'd rather have handle it. This weeks game probably won't answer too many questions since Clemson will primarily be defending the option, but I am guessing that with the nation's best secondary Coach Venables will bring extra guys up to the line of scrimmage early and often to pressure the QB.

One of the reasons Clemson had the best defense in the country last year was the front seven having the top ranked havoc rate...and by a considerable margin. I am confident against the run (Shaq Lawson would have been PFF's top run stopper if he had qualified), but I don't know if the front four can consistently get to the QB alone. Good news is Clemson has plenty of guys to trust in coverage, and can send extra rushers.

this has been the most grueling DT evar, FFRC, Micah Rogers, dead frat boys, flags, IBWG's assassination, Deshaun Watson not getting enough hype.

I for one am glad it is almost over.
