The same thing that happened last year, is going to happen this year, and going to happen for the next few years..Nada.
The $EC will actually have to EARN a trip to the national championship game now with the playoff. No more automatic "ins" because of eSECpn brainwashed/influenced perception of a conference.

run of 7 national championships, shouldn't have lost the championship game? You seem to think that there was some conspiracy (tin foil alert!) to put an SEC team in the championship game, even though (according to you) they weren't good enough or didn't deserve to be there; so by your logic, shouldn't they have lost the championship game, instead of winning it 6 times in a row (leaving out the Bama-LSU game)?

The hype will continue, the excuses will be made. Its too tough to come out of the sec. ESPN has to protect the franchise. So in essence, nothing happens, they will still be crammed down our throat.

The honest answer: Nothing, except for some excuses. "They cannibalize themselves", "the margin of error is too small", "the grueling SEC schedule has claimed so many victims", "if Alabama had Team X's schedule, they'd be a shoe-in for the trophy"...
We've all heard it before.
