...brings back pleasant and wonderful memories. I remember his call of the SC in game in 1980: "...the tigers have gathered at the top of the hill and it looks like they in all orange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".....
never to be forgotten....

Mr. Jim and Mr. Larry were the very best at what they did. No other broadcaster could ever come close to their ability to place the listener on the field with the team.
Mr. Larry made you feel like you had on your shoulder pads, jock strap, and cleats; and in the huddle with 30 seconds to go; and down by 6. You could even sense breathing and a heartbeat as he called the action.
These Men were the best!!!
We miss them.

Remember watching this game in particular with my dad ! He hated prevent defense and to this day will say that is what lost that game .

On Saturdays when I couldn't make it to Death Valley, even if the game was on TV, I would go to a quiet place and listen to Jim call the game. No one will EVER do it like he did.
RIP Jim Phillips....We miss you dearly.
