Any other recruits that Clemson has backed off that

Jul 30, 2015, 4:41 PM

are still available?

Seems like rivals or other recruiting sites could have a column that says no longer has a commit-able(?) offer from schools that are no longer recruiting the player. I haven't heard this term used prior to this year and seems like it is only brought up after a kid commits. Then every school that did not get him professes to have backed off. The coaches don't but all the guru's with "insider" information on the message boards proclaim the offer was no longer valid.. Curious if there are any offers out there that are know to be non commitable?

PJ Blue I know wasn't a commitable offer. Offered him 2+ years ago and cut off cummunication after his hearing of his "red flag" behavior.

Any WR we offered not named Overton.

Any DE we offered not named Antonnious Clay.

Any Safety we've offered. Backed off of Davis Jr., I know, after it was made known that his interest level in our program spiked.

BJ Emmons offer was non-commitable since signing day.

Just off the top of my head...

If you're speaking of Jordan Smith it was posted on here over a week ago that Clemson and Georgia had backed off and that he would be heading to the coots.

Technically, the student athlete doesn't commit until National Signing Day. And they don't have to then either unless they are trying to enroll by the Summer session. Those papers are non binding as a promise. It helps with the NCAA process but nothing else. That is why you hear about students changing their minds from one school to another after they fax in their commitments to first said school. Financial Aid Agreements is what you need to hear about. That starts around December. When they and their parents signed those, they are pretty much locked in to their school.

So wrong!

Commitments aren't binding.

Signing Letters of Intent are binding. VERY rare cases are they not binding. LoIs can be signed from signing day till mid-april for summer admission.

An athlete can sign multiple financial aid agreements.
