WR-U: Stats don't lie

Jul 29, 2015, 10:24 AM

Clemson vs Tennessee

Passing yards per game:
2011: 282 vs 242
2012: 321 vs 315
2013: 332 vs 164
2014: 261 vs 224

Passing TD per game:
2011: 33 vs 18
2012: 40 vs 35
2013: 39 vs 12
2014: 23 vs 23 PUSH

In summary, a WR in Clemson's offense gets more yards and scoring opportunities per game. More yards and touchdowns equals more opportunities to impress NFL scouts. We don't get to pad our stats against slow SEC defenses either.

All things being even :

UT had to play from behind so much since Fulmer left that they probably throw it a lot more than other teams might . They are a team that recently at least , has had trouble defensively . That is their main problem .

If those SEC defenses are slow and boost stats, why was the ACC 13-21 against the SEC over that span you mentioned? I fully agree UT has no claim whatsoever to the title of WR-U, but don't read too much into stats. Keep in mind we lost to USuCk all 3 of those years our stats were better than UT's.

These stats prove something.

Clemson WR get the ball more and score more TD. Isn't that what a recruit wants to see? Who we lost to was not part of the argument.

Oh for visibility purposes absolutely! I don't even know how it's that much of a choice. One school has put 3 studs at WR into the NFL in the last 3 years, the other...well not so much. They've had their hands full with losing seasons playing in the same division as Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Well, if you want to bring that up... Clemson was 5-4 vs the SEC in that span, while Tenn was 7-25 vs the SEC, and missed a bowl in 3 of those 4 years

Wow. So we won almost as many SEC games in 9 games

Jul 29, 2015, 12:20 PM

as they have won in 32! AND we have had NO VANDY or UK or a down UF during that time.......wow! I like that stat!

Clemson Football, the glory days are here!

Easy

Those acc schools who lost didn't want to be there.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

Yeah, there's that. And look at the draft board the last

Great stats. And I don't even understand why Tenn thinks they can even compare to us as far as WR position goes in the last 5 years. But not sure who worded the last stat of TD's per game. But pretty sure it should be Passing TD's per season. We are good but not that good to avg. that many passing TD's per game. ??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, that and Hopkins, Watson and Bryant.***

Also, the 2014 stats would not have been close if DW4 had been healthy.

You know exactly what they'll say about that.***
