An illegal touch penalty by the offense is loss of down only ?

That can't be right.

Left the semiholes with a 3rd and 1 which they picked up.


Never knew there was a penalty that didn't involve moving the football.

From What I can read, it should be 5 yards regardless. loss of down is accompanied with 5 yards if the receiver was eligible and went out voluntarily. dont know what play you are talking about but that is the rule.
