mature tigernetters............... Every year we invite new guys to enter the Clemson Football Hall of Fame. Without question this is a wonderful tribute to some of our most distinguished former players and the list is impressive. One player who has (I think) not been discussed for this honor is former QB and wide receiver Charlie Waters. In my opinion, Charlie did more to publicize the university and our football program than anyone previous to his existence. While Charlie was a Cowboy, he allowed Clemson to become well known with every game he played. His rise to fame as a pro bowl defensive back came at a time when the NFL was gaining a tremendous t.v. following. His career at Clemson was not especially stellar but he carried his background as a Tiger to Dallas and became a very popular pro star. He alone was an early promoter of our program and I would like to see him recognized for his hard work and dedication to football and Clemson University.
I don't think Charlie has been recognized. If he has, good work Tigers. If not ... let's get him in.

I realize that most of you never saw him play!!!!! lol

Waters, Pearson (both), and Bob Lilly were my favorites

I had posters of Bob Lilly in my room to inspire me as a linebacker!

Wasn't Lilly a defensive tackle?***

I was a Cowboy fan growing up because of Charlie Waters.

Once they changed owners and fired Tom Landry, I stopped pulling for them.
