Do you technically have to play the first play to be

considered a "starter"? I mean if Deshaun has an equipment problem and missed the first snap, then plays the rest of the game, does it count as a "start"?

playing at the start is pretty much the definition of starting.

So Watson got credit for the win vs Louisville and credited with the loss vs GT.

Yes to be considered

The starter you have to play in the first offensive or defensive play, sometimes teams have co-starters though. We've done that quite a bit in the past with our running backs. First I remember of that was James Davis and C.J. being co-starters.

The real question Is do you have to have played the first snap of the first game the previous season to be considered a returning starter.
