Bill Foster joke

He told this one at an IPTAY meeting. He said when he got to Clemson we were short on players, so he needed to recruit some kids out of the student body to have enough for practices. So, he put a ball under his arm and went out on the campus. He saw a big tall kid walking toward him so he stopped the kid, threw him the ball and said, "let me see you pass this". The kid says, "Pass it? Hell, I don't think I can even swallow it."

:) That actually is a Frank Howard joke. I heard him tell it at the pep rally before the first game in 1967. The rally was at the amphitheater. Good times!

But I can certainly see Coach Foster telling this. He was great. My thoughts are with his family.

I never knew that, I guess Foster "borrowed" the joke. I would have loved to have heard Howard tell that one.
