our Head Coach announce he wouldn't take an award from a group that supported traditional marriage?

Many of our top recruits are raised in Church or raised by at least one parent who wants them to 'do right,' when they go off to school to play football. Their value system is somewhat Biblical/traditional so many would see this as an attack on their personal beliefs.

That's not to say that gays are helll bound, that any truly born again believer in The Christ wishes that fate on gays and that's not what Dabo is saying by accepting the award.

What if he'd have caved to the FFRF? Would our top ranked recruiting class have looked the same?

Dabo was on the complete opposite side of this and was being given an award for all he has done to promote equal rights for gay individuals and supporting gay marriage. I wonder if he would get booed or ran out of town first or simply given his space to do what he likes in his downtime from being a Clemson coach.

Now days it seems that conservatives are actually more accepting to freedom of speech and other peoples ideas. Weird how liberals have become the close minded people in society. They are the first to persecute, and the last to forgive.
