NC State Beats Miami

May 22, 2015, 11:19 PM

State's win really hurts the Tiger's chance for a tournament bid.

State was already penciled in...

What makes or breaks us will happen outside the conference.

Virginia(21), NC(24), and NCSU(28) are well ahead of Clemson(53) in the RPI. Georgia Tech is also ahead of Clemson, but they will probably not get on. If all of the teams
ahead of the Tigers get in it would mean the ACC would have
8 teams invited. Clemson is the ninth rated ACC team in RPI.

I know you're really pulling hard against Clemson here

May 23, 2015, 9:25 AM

but they finished 5th in the ACC. They are generally placed ahead of GT and UNC in the regional pecking order (go read the front page interview of Aaron Fitt).

GT has a higher RPI but has no chance at all. The RPI is just one of several metrics - it's not as influential in baseball as it is in basketball. It had Duke ahead of Clemson at the end of the regular season. Not a very reliable or accurate measurement tool.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Scooter, you don't know anything about what I'm pulling for.
I'm a Clemson supporter, not just a fan. As for baseball, I attended every home game this year and stayed to the end of each one. I' m also one of the few who actually cheers and shouts encouragement to the players throughout the game. I've only missed an average of about one home game a year
over the last 25 years. What about you? Stating facts does not mean you are pulling for or against anything.
