Is he faster than Ford and Spiller?

May 16, 2015, 12:23 PM

Who is the fastest RB in Clemson's history?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

tye hill ran a 10.20ish, don't know cj's 100 time, ford was

May 16, 2015, 12:30 PM

low 10s, but not a rb.

100m is an odd race for a football player.

Why is that such an odd race for a football player?
A football field is much closer to 100m than 40yds so I think it's more applicable in that respect, and if you mean it's uncommon for football players to participate in that race, that may be true but being a talented sprinter is pretty applicable for most sports and means you can be inherently good at most sports that you would want to play

you're right, every hs, college camp, off site camp, college

service, college once they get on campus and even the nfl combine test and/or report the 109+ yard dash.

Ford ran a little bit faster 100m in HS

May 16, 2015, 12:35 PM [ in reply to Is he faster than Ford and Spiller? ]

"Ford was the 2005 Florida state 100-meter dash champion reportedly with a time of 10.32 seconds (he ran a wind assisted 10.21 on another occasion),[8] and 200-meter dash champion with a time of 21.18 seconds."

He also ran a personal best of 10.01 later in 2009.

Spiller wasn't quite as fast. I can't find his HS 100m time, but his personal best later was like 10.3ish. The thing about Spiller is that it seemed like he could run just as fast in pads carrying the football.

classic spiller at the 40 second mark

As much as I like Gallman and company, looking back through these old highlights of Davis and Spiller is proof that we need a major talent upgrade.

Balm, do you know if that run was wind aided?***

Reggie Bush ran a 10.4 coming out of high school back in the day. That's some serious speed for a guy of Feaster's size.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ford has the 5th fastest 40 time in NFL history...

May 16, 2015, 2:46 PM [ in reply to Is he faster than Ford and Spiller? ]

In 2009, he had the fastest 60 yard dash in the United States in all of track and field, and it ended up being the 3rd fastest in the world that year. His 6.51 second 60 yard dash in a Virginia meet a couple of years later was one tenth of a second off of the NCAA record.

Had Jacoby concentrated on track and field (not necessarily saying he should have), he would have been a world class sprinter and perhaps an Olympic medal winner.

Please remember

Feaster is a junior. He has one more year of high school track, if he isn't an early enrolle at Clemson next year.

In the meantime it's going to be nice seeing Feaster take Spartanburg High to another state championship!

For any lurking coot wondering how we are getting these five stars. Checked out the circle blurb on the bottom of the screenshotted article. This was a track meet and the kid has already committed but our coaching staff takes time to go the extra mile.

Little things matter.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's going be a special back, hopefully....

May 16, 2015, 4:04 PM

He'll be joined at Clemson by:
OL- John Simpson and Parker Boudreaux
LB- Tre Lamar
DL- Rashan Gary

Last year i was able to catch 2 of his games and he is as fast as advertised. He has above average Vision and Anticipation. He has Excellent hands for a running back.

*As for C.J Spiller comparison, he does not have the lateral quickness that C.J had.*

- Sites have him listed from 190 range but I think that is misguided... When I saw him he looked closer to 175-180 range. (8 months ago)

* He is injury prone therefore I believe he will need to build up to 200-205 before he gets to clemson to be more durable*

* All in All - Huge upside and very talented Running back that we can use in our system*
