NCAA student athletes have 5 years to play their 4 eligible years in a given sport. Each sport's 5 year clock is independent of other sports, so Rod Hall playing his 4 eligible years of basketball in his first 4 years on enrollment (he did not redshirt), means he could potentially play any other sport during his final year of his 5-year potential.
