Tell me about Jake

I have seen very few of Jake's innings. I've listened to the audio broadcast of most, but it's hard to tell what's really happening.
I noticed statistically that opponents batting averages are very low. What is he doing that's different. Statistically he seems like a different pitcher since coming back from injury this season. What's changed?

he started off shaky last year as the midweek starter, but once he was put into the weekend rotation he got much better. maybe the rehab helped a bit? idk. He really hasn't pitched much this year to judge. but I definetley expect him to be the #2 starter next year.
