Good story...the wife and I were out in Mt. Pleasant

Mar 30, 2015, 5:46 PM

Saturday night. We were at the bar and seated next to us was a really nice couple. We started talking to them and the first thing we discovered is that they were die hard Gamecocks (alums too). But when we spoke more, the husband said they had 16 year old daughters and when I asked where she was considering going to school, he said both Clemson and So. Carolina. Then he said, "but to tell you the truth, I hope like heck she goes to Clemson. It's just a much nicer campus, a better school and a much safer place for a father to send his daughter." I jokingly told him I was going to relay his message to any recruit who was between So. Carolina and Clemson and he begged me not to do that.

So there you have it, even they know the truth.

He's a 'dad' first and foremost! Kudos to him!

here here.. if my kids get into an ivy league school and I can afford

It, they are going. Basing your future on sporting contests is foolish at best, even for an athlete.

If parents were smarter the ivy league and Hawaii would have the best teams.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

I ate lunch with a lifelong gamecock a few weeks ago that was married to a clemson girl. His children all attended Clemson and he goes to all the home games. He said he hated to admit it, but there was no comparison to gameday in Columbia and Clemson. Clemson was the winner in all aspects. He only goes to a coot game when the tigers are away or not playing. It did my heart good to hear one of them admit it. They all know it's true.

The thing about it is,only a handful of them will admit that......***

Yep. But a lot of the ones that talk junk about campus have never stepped foot on it.
