Didn't just drive off. Drove off with accessories asked for, installed at his request, and not paid for.
value would determine if misdemeanor larceny or felony theft....

He's got $10k in the lift, tires and wheels..not to mention everything else they did to it..$2k for train horns $1.5k on flat black wrap and I'm sure a very nice sound system..what did the idiot think it was gonna cost?

I bought a new truck and had some upgrades done to it, you don't just drop it off and get surprised. I had an exact estimate with +/- a few labor hours.

It won't be that simple though. The car is still a titled piece of real property that belongs to Swearinger. Depending upon what kind of "defrauding the shopkeeper" type laws that jurisdiction has it will most likely be handled civilly. They'll get a judgment against Swearinger and he'll either pay or they go back and get another order to seize the vehicle as restitution. They probably went to TMZ (doubt TMZ sniffed this out on their own) to put pressure on Swearinger to pay up without them incurring any extra costs. I'm sure Texans management will lean on him to get this out of the news.
