Mid Dec signing period potentially coming

The coots would love this. If they had this this yr, they wouldn't have lost 10 recruits. ;)

That is incorrect. The correct thought is that the Coots would have lost all of those recruits in November

I like your scenario better.

I think that would be bad for several reasons.

First, it compresses their decision time into their season and creates a distraction. Second, many high schools have exams in December, and this would creates a distraction during that important time.

I think an earlier early signing date in August before the start of the kids senior year makes more sense. Thoughts anyone?

in theory, maybe, but

how does that affect those players who really show out in their senior years? What happens when a player drops off in their senior year, or has a career ending injury? I think after this season is best. anyone know why there needs to be a change?

Good points. I assume schools would have control over whose signature they accepted early, maybe only kids they considered to have a high probability of reachig their potential? The kids who blow up late may still find scholarships available. I bet our coaches could manage these new scenarios.

Also schools could maybe have a medical waiver out clause on kids who could never play again. We've taken injured kids plenty of times before, ie. Tahj Boyd. This year de Ferrell, next year qb Cooper. I think it can work.

I don't see a change as neccessary but it avoids alot of stress for kids like Ray Ray but potentially hurts kids like Mark Fields. Things have worked out fine for a hundred years as things are now so the question is, who is pushing for change and why?
