Morris used Clemson

Jan 27, 2015, 10:29 PM

as a try-out for a college coaching position in Texas. The "contacts" with Texas high school coaches proves that he was never ALL IN with Clemson! I realize that all college assistant coaches are auditioning for a bigger job, but this is ridiculous. I feel like he was waiting on the SMU job for most of the season. When Watson went down, he lost interest and let the Clemson offense drift until he was able to get out.

Absoutely silly response. Sigh, just too wrong to even discuss

He says that FB is always on his mind, and that there is no way to turn it off. I've seen it get it turned off a few time on the side lines with us before. It was either turned off, or he lost the signal;)

I'm not positive how all the hiring of FB coaches works.

Jan 28, 2015, 7:30 AM

I suspect when a job comes open coaches that are interested in the job make some kind of inquiry to the AD in charge of the hire. If the AD is interested in interviewing the applying coach he extends an invitation to interview.

As I said, I'm not positive but that seems to be most reasonable. If so then Chad applied for at least one job each year. I didn't think he was ready for a D1 HCing job and I still don't. He sure seemed awful anxious to get away from Clemson. I don't think his shirt tail hit his back on the way out.

I appreciate what he's done for us and I wish him the ability to learn while he earns at SMU.

SMU is the perfect situation for him at a mid-tier D1. He'll

be tearing up that conference in a few years. I would think his HS coaching ties are as good as any D1 coach in the state of Texas....
