Thought Univ Maryland's Athletic Dept was broke

When Maryland announced its plans for a $155 million upgrade to its football facilities, recruits took notice. The plans call for a renovation to Cole Field House, construction of an indoor practice facility and integration between academics and athletics.

No amount of money can fix Byrd Stadium.

Ugliest football stadium in the country and the only way to fix the architectural issues would be to tear down everything but the lower horseshoe and start over.

with the revenue from the BIG Ten network, it probably filled Maryland's AD accounts with money. That's the reason why Maryland jumped was the increase in revenue they would be getting from the BIG 10 vs what revenue they get from the ACC.
