refs have been allowing the Mountaineers to absolutely thug/mug the wolfies which has resulted in numerous state turnovers and failures to get the ball across the time line. Much like what was going on underneath the basket in colaville the other night. The officials have decided just to allow WVU to slap, push, hold, trip as much as they want without whistling the infraction. State has much better shooters than Clemson does however, and are far from out of the game. They don't call him Bob Thuggins for nuthin....Frank Martin was an assistant under Thuggins at KState....and that style ball is unmistakeable....the chickens got themselves a couple of Lithuanian strong men from the Russian mob AAU, and if the refs are going to allow uber-physical play, they'll fare well....when conferences started sharing refs, I thought these disparate types of play would receive very similar officiating mandates pretty much everywhere, but thats not been the case, at least thus far this season.
I don't mind a certain amount of muscling for position provided no huge advantage is gained by deliberate holding, pushing or tripping, but this NCSt/WVU game is way over the top....and while not particularly caring for either team, I do particularly dislike Bob Thuggins.
I agree wholeheartedly, except that its not been just

because of Duke, a certain longtime coach at unc is just as responsible for the "touch foul" officiating predominant in the ACC..... the SEC and B1G have long had a reputation for "muscle" basketball...one thats been hard earned and well deserved
