There are 3 sports that are truly cared about in the state (in order of relevance):
Football
Baseball
Football and Baseball Recruiting
Every thing else is takes a backseat. Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Soccer are all watched and televised, but really that's about it.

College baseball ? That is on a level par with competitive crocheting. Nobody cares about college baseball aside from a small faction of hardcore fans.
No , it is Football and Basketball at the collegiate level. Those are the revenue sports.

Far more fans have always shown up to the baseball games than the basketball games, at nearly every school in SC.
