All Marines included were injured while conducting combat operations with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion and 1st Battalion, 8th Marines in the Kajaki District of Afghanistan in 2012:

Captain John Reynolds - From Greenville, SC and a 2007 graduate of Princeton University. Received a gunshot wound to the head on 30-May 2012 during a 3-day firefight with Taliban insurgents. Currently, he is a second year student at Harvard Business School. Both of his younger sisters, Elizabeth and Katherine Reynolds, are current students at Clemson (senior and sophomore, respectively).

Corporal Sean Adams - From Gainesville, GA. Lost both legs from an Improvised Explosive Device blast while serving as the point man on reconnaissance patrols on 10-February 2012. Currently, he is in the process of receiving certification to be an instructor for an ROTC unit while he also serves at churches and schools speaking to audiences about his life’s experiences.

Corporal Nathan Jakubisin - From Cambridge, OH. Lost his right leg and shattered his left leg from an Improvised Explosive Device blast while serving as the point man on offensive clearing operations on 4-June 2012. Currently, he is stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital where he is undergoing rehabilitation on his leg. He is present with his wife, Marli, and their 11-month old son, Mason.

This kind of recognition, affirmation, and gratitude means everything to them. When our guys returned from Vietnam, the only thing they got was a discharge and abuse. You make a difference.
