I hate the song Rocky Top

but this week every year I can't get it out of my head. Heck I want to download it on Itunes and listen to it right now. Good Ole Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee! Time to start back the Orange Crush tomorrow!

of TN where I was born, Rocky Top was part of my adult life. I even wore a power T cap to class my first year at Clemson. Football was not really a part of my life. In high school the cool people called players jocks. That was a slander at the time.

That first semester at Clemson football became important to me and my slight allegiance to the Vols dissipated like a fart in a whirlwind. The song continued to echo in my mind. When things were going right for some reason I'd find myself singing that same ole stupid tune.

Sometime during the late eighties I began to hate myself but when the impulse hit me I'd start singing it before I realized. Well, a Clemson man has no problem finding a solution to any problem.

I rewrote the lyrics to satisfy both my love for the tune without feeling I had betrayed my true love. Here's what I think of UT.
