Not defending Tarholes, but

Oct 30, 2014, 2:54 PM

Are the NCAA total hypocrites? "One and done" is sanctioned and within the rules. To me, that is just as big an insult to academic integrity as sham classes.

Isn't that the NBA's restriction? Just like NFL's is 3 years***

Cole @ Beach Cole w/ Clemson Hat

yes. They are pushing it to two years

Oct 30, 2014, 3:00 PM

and I'd guess most likely that will happen, but that will probably result in kids going to Europe and getting paid to play first before entering draft.

That's fine with me.

A kid can come in a play a year without ten minutes of study. If they don't want to be students they shouldn't be on the roster. At least the two year rule would eliminate that carp.

I am sure it is, but there is a big difference between 1 and 3

Coaches blatantly recruit one and done kids, knowing they only have to stay eligible one semester.

But point well taken...you can't prevent a kid from dropping out if the NBA will take him. And if the NBA changed that rule, it would probably just lead to more sham classes and other methods of cheating.

Dang shame, is what it is.

are you saying Clemson wouldn't take a 1-and-done type

If she's a hollerer, she'll be a screamer.
If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.

It is a sham situation with "one and dones"...

Oct 30, 2014, 3:02 PM

But the NCAA has that forced on them.

Additionally, the NCAA cannot force anyone to stay in school at any time. Even if the NBA didn't have their rule, how would the NCAA make athletes stay who didn't want to be in school for more than one year? They can keep a kid from playing if they want to, but they can't keep a kid from not playing.
