I grew up on Braves and MLB, but have kind of lost touch with it lately, so didn't know much about him. As soon as they started interviewing him though, I picked up on that twang and told my gf that "hey - that guy has to be from near the upstate!" Looked him up and I was right.

Also, I spent the second half of that game trying to explain to her how the numbers he was putting up - 0.26 ERA or whatever?? is f'ing ridiculous and just unheard of. By her expressions, you would have thought I was watching someone doing taxes. Ehh - pitching duels aren't for everyone.
