World's record for stadium noise

Just heard on Imus that the world's record for stadium noise is 131 decibels at a soccer stadium in Istanbul Turkey. That is louder than a jumbo jet on takeoff.

Does anybody measure sustained noise level? I imagine Cameron Indoor is loud almost all the time, not just after one play.

FWIW, I was at Sloan Street for "The Catch 2". The TV was on delay and you could hear the stadium erupt before the play came on TV. I know everybody talks about the Miami game being loud but that play had to be one of the loudest in Clemson history.

That last time when they played Clemson for their homecoming word on tha skreetz is that it reached 263 dbs inside the dump. Pardon me. That was a typo. It should have read "the big dump." And that was BEFORE they started rattling their keys. No wonder Dabo's ears were bleeding on the sideline (and it wasn't due to Shafer's potty mouth). Amazing!

We set a record in memorial stadium with 132+ in 2005.

My tug is outfitted with twin Cat Marine diesel 12 Cylinder engines that rate at 1200 hp apiece . Under strain they emit dB levels around 118 in the main engine room.
That hurts like hell without hearing protection. 130+ dBs is incredibly loud. I say we should hand out earplugs and go get that record.
I also agree w/earlier poster who stated we should put the meter at field level , preferably around the 50.
