Dr. Bruce Cook, long time Tiger Band director, passed away

I don't know if this has been posted yet but Dr. Bruce Cook, longtime director of Tiger Band and a legend in Clemson's music department, has passed away after a long fight with leukemia. From CUTBA's Tom Waldrop:

"With a very heavy heart I pass along to everyone that Dr. Bruce Cook passed away this evening. Devout Christian, loving husband and father, mentor and teacher to thousands, and a gentle soul, he will always be missed. I will pass along arrangements as they become known."

Dr. Cook retired just before I got to Clemson but he was still active in the music department. There are probably thousands of stories that could be told about him, Tiger Band, and various football games (especially away games). Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Like Tom Waldop said, he was a gentle soul. Dr. Goodstein did all the yelling for him :)

and despite knowing it was coming it still hit me hard. Not only was I in the band for a few years in the 80's but I grew up in Clemson and new the entire Cook family growing up. Really sad this morning.
