teams that win the toss and elect to play defense first, and number of wins? Is they're a statistical advantage to electing to play defense first, if you win the toss?

It's kinda fun if you're peppered when you start. So yeah, it was kinda rough the first time.
I think think your question is valid but needs a qualifier such as, 'does a team with an outstanding offense advantage when they choose to kick over a team with a poor special teams team?'
With that qualifier it becomes much clearer and answerable (that's a new word I herd on ESPiN this past weekend) .

The short answer is not really. There isn't really good data on teams that win the toss and their decision to kick/receive/defer.
However, and I know this sounds too stupid to be a real argument, there is a huge correlation between teams that score first and winning. The problem is fishing out if they score first because they win the toss or because they are the better team. Coaches try and make their decision based on their teams' strengths. If you have a great offense, receive and score. If you have a great defense, defer, then kick, force a three and out and give your team advantageous field position.
