WHEN Jeff Scott takes over as OC

Oct 21, 2014, 10:50 AM

Not saying anytime soon, but will he run Morris' system or a variant that includes some I formation power running?

I formation.

Oct 21, 2014, 11:00 AM

What is that??

Hire Andy Ludwig ( look it up)

With Dabo as head coach, we will be a spread team.***

I know we will be a spread offense

Oct 21, 2014, 11:49 AM

I was just wondering if he will include more under center power run plays than morris does

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm still not convinced....

that Jeff Scott taking over as OC for Morris at some point is a given.

In fact, if I were Dabo and Morris informed me of his intentions to accept a HC position at another school, my first call would be to Lincoln Riley at ECU.

Lincoln Riley will be long gone I bet.

Rhett Lashley at Auburn would have to be a call too. It would allow him to prove he can call plays without Malzahn there.

Jeff Scott bleeds Orange, he will get the job.

My guess is he'll be successful and be at Clemson as long as they want him. He was taught by his Dad, has HS experience running his Spread Offense and has spent the last 4 years being trained by Chad. He's far better situated for the job than some other OC, that'd just be using Clemson as a stepping stone to their next job.

Yet another bold statement from MRTTMT***

Every single recruit since Watson committed 2 years ago have been told this and bought into it.

Clemson is no stepping stone***

Maybe the prper way to say it

Oct 21, 2014, 1:32 PM

Jeff would come closer to being happy being the OC at Clemson and not taking every interview possible to get another job.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Only one thing about that

"trained by Chad"...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Didn't he run the spread @ Blythewood ?***

Correct with Richard Mounce and Marquan Jones, who set the SC high school record for receiving yards and TD's in a single game.

I am from there and watched them a few times. He certainly seemed like he knew how to run an offense. They fell off a cliff when he left.

a 3A high school doesn't necessarily correlate to college ball, but it's worked pretty well for Morris and Malzahn.

The first phone call J.Scott should make

Oct 21, 2014, 11:05 AM

is to John Gruden and offer him the WR coaching position.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

I would think if you want to keep Jeff Scott, you have to give him the OC next time it is open. He has done a great job with the WRs and recruiting. Pass on him, and if I were him, I would have to start looking for an OC job somewhere.
